Six charities that had been dropped from the Combined Federal Campaign for failing to meet eligibility requirements will be allowed to participate after all. The Office of Personnel Management reversed itself Aug. 2 and decided to let the charities remain in the annual fund-raiser after they filed a federal lawsuit, said Bernard DiMuro, an Alexandria, Va. attorney representing the charities. The charities are the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the American Association of Kidney Patients, the Allergy and Asthma Network/Mothers of Asthmatics, the Sturge-Weber Foundation, the Navigators and Awana Clubs International. OPM was quick to respond and work out an arrangement to get these people on the list again. Last year, federal civilian employees, postal workers and military members pledged $268.5 million to the CFC.
