Mr. Whitfield is an experienced business lawyer who specializes in representing companies in complex corporate and technology transactions, including licensing and outsourcing of business processes, information technology, and related sourcing services. He also advises companies on various energy, government contract, regulatory, and transaction matters.

Mr. Whitfield has advised C-Suite and senior executives in various industries on corporate and regulatory matters, including structuring, negotiation, and documenting sourcing transactions. These industries include, for example, consumer services, energy, financial, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, transportation and waste management.

Mr. Whitfield served as a Special Assistant to Admiral H.G. Rickover, Director of the Division of Naval Reactors in the Department of Energy. He led, in conjunction with private industry, the development, implementation and operation of a $100 million steam generator chemical cleaning program for the Nuclear Navy.

  • Established strategy and structured a joint venture agreement for a government contractor
  • Led corporate work for large wind farm transaction
  • Led a multi-million dollar outsourcing transaction for a utility under substantial pressure from the public service commission
  • Represented Special Committee to Board of Trustees in a due diligence investigation for a company sued by shareholders and fined by the government
  • Led strategic sourcing of several information technology and business process transactions for a manufacturing company that involved negotiations and coordination among several different service providers
