BERNARD J. DiMURO is the managing partner of DiMuroGinsberg and President of the Civil Workplace, Inc. In 2001, 2002 and 2006, Virginia Business named Mr. DiMuro one of Virginia's "Legal Elite" for his work in the fields of Civil Litigation and Employment Law. Mr. DiMuro is a recipient of a 1995 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice and was named a finalist for the 2006 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.

Mr. DiMuro represents corporate clients in complex civil litigation before both federal and state courts and administrative tribunals in the areas of business torts, corporate law, employment law, product liability, professional liability, and defamation. He represents employers in all aspects of federal and state discrimination and employment laws, ranging from federal claims for sexual harassment, age, sex, and disability discrimination, fair labor standards and whistleblowing to common law employment claims including wrongful discharge, defamation, negligent hiring and retention, and privacy rights. Mr. DiMuro is qualified as an Expert Witness in state and federal courts on matters relating to business torts, employment and labor, and professional responsibility.

As President of The Civil Workplace, Inc., Mr. DiMuro presents in-house seminars to, and consults with, business entities and employers on preventive maintenance in employment law to minimize exposure to litigation, a service which he believes not only serves the interests of the employer, but also the employees. He further assists business clients in litigation management and in the audit of legal fees and legal services.

Mr. DiMuro served as the Virginia State Bar's President from June 2002 to June 2003.  Mr. DiMuro has been a member of the State Bar's Executive Committee (1995-97 and 2000-present) and the State Bar's Council since 1991. He co-chairs the Advertising Task Force and the Standing Committee on Budget and Finance and is a member of the Task Force on Corporate Counsel, Appellate Rules Advisory Committee and the Leadership Task Force. Mr. DiMuro is currently the Bar Council's liaison to the Lawyers Helping Lawyers Committee. Mr. DiMuro has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association since 1997.

A renowned expert on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Mr. DiMuro serves on the State Bar's Committee to Study the Code of Professional Responsibility and participates in the Virginia Continuing Legal Education's program to teach ethics and professional responsibility to new members of the Virginia State Bar. He previously served on the Virginia Disciplinary Board, including a term as Chairman (1993-1995). Mr. DiMuro is also a former chairman of the Eighth District Grievance Committee.

Mr. DiMuro is a member of the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics of Virginia. Since 1994, he has supported the Special Olympics' efforts to increase awareness of their activities and raise funds for its participants.

Mr. DiMuro received his B.A. degree in political science from Northwestern University and his J.D. degree from George Washington University National Law Center.

Mr. DiMuro is admitted to the Bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia, State of Illinois, and the District of Columbia. He is admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous federal courts.
